India’s national broadcaster All India Radio (AIR) is inviting listeners to connect with film icon Aamir Khan on his public awareness campaign.
Being aired on various television channels, the popular actor’s show ‘Satyamev Jayate’ also has a radio version called ‘Awaaz unki jinhein fikr hai desh ki’ (Voice of Those Who Care for the Nation).
It is broadcast at 3.30pm every Saturday on AIR’s Vividh Bharati channel and at 11 am on its other stations.
Topics discussed on the show include sexual exploitation of women and citizen-police interaction.
Listeners can record their messages for the show on 022-2869 2709 or email airamirkhan@gmail.com.
The channel will share these reactions with the actor who will respond on air.
Vividh Bharati’s Mumbai station head Rupali Rupak Kulkarni told The Times of India: “Vividh Bharati’s immense reach cannot be matched by other forms of media. As a public broadcaster we have been using this platform to spread awareness about pressing social issues.”
